It was about 9:30am Father's Day morning. I was seeing how far I could jump my Motocross Bike and found out my suspension was not designed to handle the impact of what I gave it on the last jump of the day. I knew it was a big jump, but I wanted to prove I could jump it and I wanted it documented on videotape. I promised my friend, Jeff, I wouldn't jump it any more after we had a few good jumps on video, but I had to jump it one last time just because of a new camera angle I wanted on tape. Here's the video (in quicktime format) of the jump in slow motion. Even though I didn't crash, my ankle was severely shattered and I will never fully recover from it. Do not attempt to jump a high-performance motorcycle without knowing the risks involved first.
